Given all the positive reviews I was really looking forward to my stay here but have to say I was pretty disappointed. The staff just seemed completely disinterested and for the three days I was here the only time anyone spoke to me was when I got back one night after midnight and the receptionist demanded to see evidence that I was a guest there!
Never offered any wine which other reviewers have mentioned and was a big part of why I chose this place. There's also not really a bar, just a minibar in the lobby you can use. Also the lobby is really just a waiting area rather than a nice lounge you'd want to spend any time in. Certainly not somewhere to come and work from.
The room I had was small, far too hot and overlooked a load of bins. Granted I had only paid for a basic room so can't really expect too much. In its favour the desk was a good size and the desktop ironing board made a great laptop stand!
Had to leave the window wide open every night even though it was just 10 degrees out, because the place was like an oven with no option to turn the temperature down. Also disappointed to find little plastic bottles of toiletries which are terrible for the environment.
The TV had basic local channels but you can't stream from your own devices or use Netflix etc.
The breakfast was the standard continental offering (i.e. rubbish) with no hot options so I didn't bother with it. The coffee was disappointingly weak.
If you want to work from here I would actually recommend going nextdoor to the Citizen M hotel which has a big lounge with loads of workstations with power outlets etc. They also have really nice staff. In fact if you can get a room here I'd wholeheartedly recommend it over the Alexandra.
