This hostel is absolutely superb, the staff are friendly, helpful, full of local knowledge and go the extra mile. The facilities are cleaned daily, rooms are spacious, air conditioned, large lockers for the bigger backpacks, free wireless internet in the lounge with 2 large kitchens to cook plus all the necessary cooking utilities in order to make your cooking experience more convenient. Breakfast is good and a real bonus is a 9:00 am -1pm snack, which can range from fruitsalad to some lovingly prepared sandwiches. The doors of the hostel are closing off every night between 11pm to 7am and there is a security code at the door where you can have access to the building(they will write all the details to your e-mail, but anyway at that time you should be exploring the wonderful city of Chania. It's location is in the heart of Chania and it's an easy walk to get anywhere but it's inbetween two streets, if you walk a little futher down, grab a free map from the tourist information office or a cheap one from a newsagent as you may miss it when following the directions to get there.(You can also ask the receptionist to give you a free map and also she can give u some recommendations on where to hang out). At nights and weekends, they're secured doors at the entrance, it just gives any traveller the feeling of more security, I only had put the password that they provided me in order to be buzzed in. I stayed in a 4 bed mixed and moved to 5 bed mixed and had no complaints whatsoever - of course reviews like this and the ones below makes this a popular place to stay, I don't think there was one day when this place wasn't fully booked - book early.
