Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz Bergen

First the good part. The rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast is really good with fresh squeezed OJ! The room was a decent size for a family of 4 (bed was a little small but we were sharing it with our 8 year old). The location is superb! There’s a parking garage right across the street. Now the bad- Our first night was a disaster and no one got any sleep as the room felt stuffy and it was extremely loud at night with windows open. There was loud nonstop noise (bar/pub nearby?) which continued till 1am. We were traveling as a family of 4 and arrived at 6:30 pm only to find the sofa bed wasn’t made and didn’t have bedding. There weren’t enough towels in the room either.  We requested an extra blanket for our child and were told that the hotel doesn’t have any extras! The person at the front desk the next morning seemed a lot nicer and more helpful. The housekeeping was very careless with our dirty teacups not being replaced with clean ones. The hotel has a lot of plus points, they just need to work on minor details to make this a really great place!

My small room only had view at a small place within the hotel building, packed with iron building material. Location is perfect, right in center of Bergen. Many restaurants around. 20m to Bryggen, a major shopping street and area at one of the city's harbours.

Wonderful hotel in the middle of Bergen! Walking distance everywhere and close to the pick up/drop off for the boats to see the fjords! Also, they have one of the best breakfasts I've had in a hotel in a long time! Comfy rooms, not too small for the 2 of us and it was relatively quiet too.

Room is tiny (because I have so much luggage!) but the quirkiness more than makes up for it! Reception staff are fabulous and so is the food - tons of choices! Centrally situated! Nothing I don't like about it!  Now looking forward to Thon in Oslo!
