Hotel Katerina

Great value, clean room, friendly staff
Stayed here for a week with my husband and had a great time! Very good value for money, and everything you may wish to see in Athens is within comfortable walking distance.

The room was clean and surprisingly spacious - there was even a balcony. The room also had a clean bathroom, a good shower, and good air conditioning. The breakfast was alright but there are many nice bakeries nearby.
The reception offers 24h service and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped us get a taxi ready for our departure and they also called to make sure we had woken up.
About the area - we didn't do our research on Metaxiurgeio, and while it may not be the fanciest, the area around Karaiskaiki square (where the hotel is located) felt perfectly safe in the daytime. We always took a taxi back to the hotel when we stayed out late (use Beat app to avoid tourist fares).
All in all, I would recommend this hotel! Thank you for a nice stay :)

A family feeling
We needed to stay for 2 days in a hotel due to constructions in our house and hotel Katerina was the perfect choice! The man in the reception,Giannis was very helpful and because he saw we were very exhausted he upgraded our room and gave us the Suite! The balcony was big with view around the city ! It was such a lovely gesture. Hotel is next to a metro station which is very convenient.Rooms are very clean and all the staff is smiling! Breakfast is a plus because it’s very fresh and tasty ! The waiting area in the reception is big and nice! The perfect choice for staying in the center of Athens!

Staffs are very helpful and friendly. Location is excellent given the cost we paid, very close to a Metro station (within one min. of walking). Breakfast buffet offers great value. Wi-Fi speed is good too and street parking is not hard.
Disliked • Elevators are a bit too small to fit both people and luggages.

Liked • The room was spotless clean, it had great sound isolation, the bed and the pillows were comfy, the wi-fi was also good. All the staff were very helpful and nice, the breakfast was very good, with few varieties. The best thing probably was the free safe parking of the hotel, since this is not the safest part of the city, and parking spaces are also scarce, so this was a great thing to have a space, and not think about your car being damaged or robbed. The good thing about the location is, it's near proximity to almost every important tourist location in the city, so if you don't mind a bit of walking, you can see everything by foot. All in all, the price and the facilities and service, and the proximity to everything are awesome.
Disliked • This is not directly connected with the hotel, but someone may find it useful. This part of the city, is a bit unsafe, so if you stay here, and decide to visit everything by foot as we did, avoid the small streets after dark, keep moving only where it's crowded and well lit.
