Impressive!
We visited Amsterdam for my wife’s birthday weekend. We stayed at the Okura Hotel, had dinner at one of their restaurants and enjoyed their spa facilities and a wonderful massage. They truly were the cherry on top of the pie, the attention to detail, amazing service and super friendly staff. The location is also superb, underground parking and very close to the center of Amsterdam makes this a must when visiting

The best service I have experienced
We stayed elsewhere for a weekend in Amsterdam, but visited Okura twice - on Saturday for a lunch at Yamazato, and on Sunday for a spa treatment at Nagomi Spa and for a late lunch at Serre before heading to the airport. Both Yamazato and Serre were mindblowing - especially as we are Japanese cuisine lovers (take the Toro, the fatty tuna nigiri, at Yamazato) and like ”upscale bistro-type” places (the surf&turf lobster and tartar at Serre is fantastic!). We enjoyed very much also the spa, where we had a swim and a hotstone massage treatment. Complimentary apricot and cherry juice was served prior to the massage. However, the best part of the whole (fantastic) experience was the excellent service in all of these places. This culminated as the immensely appreciated gesture: I had my luggage with me on Sunday, and I had a newly purchased luxury handbag in its shopping bag, that I had covered with a plastic garbage bag to avoid rain ruining the beautiful white shopping bag. One of the door men - out of nowhere - offered me a much nicer white plastic bag that had handles for carrying to cover the bag from the rain - and I wasn’t even staying at the hotel! This was not asked for and so immensely well-noticed that I couldn’t believe the level of the service. Looking forward to my next stay in Amsterdam, when I will stay at the Okura hotel. Ps. Also must try the Le Ciel Bleu restaurant the next time in town!

Not as good as hoped
Two nights here but went down with the flu first morning. So spent all the time apart from the first night in bed which was a bit hard for me. But lovely modern high quality hotel with super friendly staff even if I had to mention on check out about my 200 euro cash deposit as they didn't which is pretty poor. Couple of points, a complimentary or for a few euros shuttle bus to the airport would be nice like the lesser 4 star Radisson Apollo rather than a 37 euro taxi for a 15 minute ride. And only one smoking room by the entrance?? rather than on the top floor by the bar and restaurant there. But for a 5star in Amsterdam which it certainly was it was good value for money

No value for money
No value for money is self explanatory. No amenities in the room only on request, much confusion on communication among the staff on the service to be given. No complementary water in the room.As in house guest need to pay hefty parking costs. Long Q for check in and check out at times. High taxi rates ( double ) if booked by the hotel. Noisy rooms easily hear the neighbour having "fun

Elegance, convenience and Japanese quality in Amsterdam
Within easy walking distance of major "attractions" and downtown, and a block away from two major tram lines that will take you wherever you wish to go in minutes. Avoid the congestion (and some of the noise) of hotels closer to the central city, with the advantage of exceptional Japanese quality hospitality and amenities

Very nice hotel. Highly suggested.
Elegant and very well kept hotel in Amsterdam.

Best choice for me. Have been there twice and always loved it.

Bright new rooms.

Very good service.

It is not in the centre but centre can be easily reached via bike in 10 minutes. Bike can be rented although they should be free of charge

We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Hotel Okura Amsterdam. We can't say enough about the accommodations and staff. We had an emergency and needed to level AMS one day early and Owen, front desk clerk, saw that I was distressed and immediately offered me water and never asked 'why'; just knew something was wrong. He offered to phone the airline to change our flights and again, never asked 'why'. Just was there. Hotel is a great location, close to train and could safely walk anywhere needed. Don't miss this one !!

When we asked “Bearleaders Amsterdam” for a mid-week romantic & luxurious staycation in our hometown, they suggested the Hotel Okura Amsterdam. They arranged everything for us: an amazing suite, spa arrangement including massages and a terrific dinner in one of the four restaurants. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome from the Okura team. They are all very friendly & courteous. No everything was as to be expected: everything perfected in to every detail and splendid service.

Congratulations on Okura Amsterdam’s 50th anniversary. I have been visiting the landmark building for 42 years and have had dinner at all all four restaurants & cocktail bar, but this is the first time we have spent the night.

Highly recommended! The luxurious #OkuraMoments are comprised of blending the best of Japan with European flair.

We were pleased with the professionalism found at this Hotel. The room was beautifully clean and quiet with comfortable furnishings. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfect, not too soft or hard, and a pillow menu was on hand should you wish to exchange it. The duvet however felt cheap as it would heat up very quickly and not breathe leaving you feeling a bit sticky.
The shower has good water pressure but the bath could have been more comfortable.
The location is great and perfect for seeing a nicer and less touristy side of Amsterdam.
I enjoyed a great massage from Erika at the spa and would highly recommend this.
Unfortunately we did not get to experience much of the hotels cuisine as the vegan options were very limited and practically non existent on the breakfast menu. We did have a fruit plate before checking out and the freshness of the fruit and the portion size could have been better.

We have a pleasant experience at Okura. High-tea, the restaurants and hotel stay were all well taken care of. Friendly staff and very polite. At the high-tea there could be a little less sweets present. An addition would be more savory snacks. The hotel also has a very nice cab service. For questions they are quickly accessible by phone or via whatsapp. We have been here several times and will definitely come back more often.

One of the best hotels in Europe! I was there again in September and the service was excellent. From the arrival until the departure, we felt very welcome. We noticed every detail of perfection in hospitality there. It was a pity that the spontaneous lockdown destroyed our plans a bit and we were not able to visit the Spa and have the Japanese Afternoon Tea but the hotel staff took care of us. The communication and service was exzellent. There was also a welcome gift which was really nice! The room was also very modern and there was also an extra table for In-Room dining. In-Room dining was perfect and also the Executive Lounge was nice! We would love to come back after the Corona to experience the hotel again without Corona circumstances.

Wonderful hotel! We only stayed for one night, but it was an absolute pleasure. The staff are very friendly, from porters to reception and service. Rooms are minimalistic but classy. A beautifully set and decorated bathroom for two with plenty of amenities makes the room feel even more luxurious. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet at night.  I would definitely recommend it. And one small thing to mention, they have 2 restaurants with Michelin stars and one with Michelin Bib Gourmand. We tried to have dinner at 2 Michelin Star Ciel Bleu, but it was fully booked, despite the set menu being 595 Euro! We ended up at Serre, which was splendid.
