Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & THE SPA

Queen for a day
I was able to stay at the Schweizerhof in Bern because I had a free hotel night from hotels.com. It was a fabulous hotel. The staff allowed me to check into my room very early (10 am) when I arrived after a ski trip. They helped with my heavy ski bags and gave me a map and directions to the Paul Klee Museum. I was given a free upgrade to a king room. It has some free drinks in minibar and coffee and tea. The room was beautiful, personalized greeting in room and on TV. I stayed long the next morning and enjoyed coffee and a hot bath in the room since check out isn't until noon. The spa was very clean and the staff were super. I highly recommend this hotel, if you can afford it. It made me feel like a queen for a day. I never had a room with a chandelier and live orchid plant and fruit. I guess it shows I usually stay at budget hotels. It was a real treat.

Winter trip to Switzerland
The Hotel enjoys a unique location and major attractions were within walking distance. The hotel is well maintained and the staff at the reception offered excellent services. Room is not available as we arrived before noon. When we were back, luggage were sent to our room. Room was clean and we had a good sleep. The check out process was efficient as well. We shall come back the next time in Bern.

Lovely hotel in great city
Stayed one night - its location is great literally across the road from the station. We were lucky and got a large Junior Suite which was lovely- massive bathroom with separate seating area to watch TV. We didnt eat in hotel but had a drink at the bar which had a nice ambience although service not super attentive. Staff all very friendly and demonstrrted all skills expected in luxury city hotel. Definitely recommended.

Perfect choice in Bern
Our stay at the Hotel Schweizerhof was flawless. Service is excellent and the rooms are appointed in a stylish and comfortable fashion having been recently refurbished. The rooftop terrace is a perfect place for an apero or a drink with friends. Further the location of the hotel in the center of the city and just adjacent to the train station and shopping is extremely convenient. You can’t make a better choice when staying in Bern.

I stumbled in not knowing anything about this place. Jack’s Brassiere looked welcoming from the sidewalk as I was walking by.

It’s near the main Bern train station so easy to find.

They are, according to the sweet and helpful maitre d'hotel, “famous” for their schnitzel, so I decided to give it a try.

The tables at Jack’s and the lobby bar were all reserved, but I was able to find a spot at the actual bar. The bartender Stephan and others were wonderful as you would expect in a 5-star/5-diamond hotel.

He even let me charge my iPhone while I was dining.

I had Austrian-style potato salad with my schnitzel. Very traditional. I don’t usually eat meat, but I’m on vacation and no-one’s looking, so what the heck.

It was fun and, while I don’t plan to change my diet, I do recommend it if you’re into that sort of thing.

Wonderful service as always
Last minute booking and fabulous service as always thank you. One minor point, I found no way of setting lights in room to a low level for reading it was either all on or all off (except tiny bed side light) would have been good to set a low level, other than that silly techno issue my stay was appreciated. A grand hotel and I look forward to my next visit.

Service in the lounge bar is second to none
I like to pop into the cosy gem of a lounge bar of the Schweizerhof Hotel in Berne. It is conveniently located, close to the train station. The staff are extremely friendly and always give me a warm welcome. They all but especially Solange go out of their way to make my stay a truly enjoyable one by creating a relaxed feel-good atmosphere. I have ultimately become a regular customer for quite some time now. Thanks for your lavish hospitality!

Amazing Hotel
Having spent a night at their hotel in Lucerne, we had high hopes for our 2 night stay in Bern. Having arrived by train, the hotel is literally across the road, so a great location. On arrival you could see this was a wonderful hotel and on arriving mid afternoon it was extremely busy in the foyer with people enjoying drinks/coffee - as was the reception. We were instantly given help by the concierge who took our bags. A lovely girl from Reception (Tanya? - apologies if I have got this wrong), took us to sit down and offered us refreshments while we waited for Reception to quieten down. She then offered us lots of wonderful information on best places to visit, giving us a map and circling must see places. Once checked in, we arrived at our 2 bedroom family room ( 2 completely separate rooms 304/305 but with a a small hallway and lockable door at the front ). They were elegantly furnished, spacious and thought they were fantastic. We had planned to eat at a specific restaurant that first evening but cancelled as we really liked the look of Jack's Brasserie attached to the hotel (and were you will have breakfast). Everyone was again, charming, welcoming and we have a brilliant night. Sadly we did have quite a bit of rain during our 2 day visit but so much of Bern can be reached under cover it was easy to get around. This hotel has the same wonderful group of staff who are welcoming, happy and really want you to enjoy your stay. It is in a fantastic location to get around, easy for the station and we really enjoyed our stay despite the rain. Hard to imagine how I could give it any more stars had the sun been shining !! We will be back.

Fabulous hotel!
The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. Our room was very quiet - great for sleeping. The bathroom was very spacious and well designed! We enjoyed the large bathtub, the separate shower, double sinks and private toilet room. The bed was very comfortable. We ordered room service for breakfast - delicious!

Phenomenal Hotel and Staff
I can’t begin to describe just how wonderful the Hotel Schweizerhof actually is. I’ve been fortunate enough to have the pleasure of staying is some really nice hotels in Europe, USA and Canada. However the Schweizerhof beats them all hands down. It is simply stunning and we loved every minute of our stay.
The excellence started even before we had departed for Bern. I had contacted the hotel to see if they could arrange for champagne and roses to be placed in our room for our arrival, as it was my wife’s birthday. The hotel always responded promptly to my emails and they ensured that my wife got a surprise when we entered the room. They also included (without being asked) balloons, a birthday cake and a lovely hand written card. Extra special thanks to Denise the Reservations agent.
The hotel is right beside the train station in Bern and is ideally situated for exploring this beautiful city. The check in experience was very good and the gentlemen that checked us in was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. We booked a deluxe boutique room and we were delighted with it. Room was spacious, with a lovely big comfortable bed, lots of space to hang clothes and store suitcases. Ample power sockets and the option to watch British TV was good. There was a separate wc and wash hand basin located in a small room and a large bathroom with shower and two wash hand basins. The bath was large with ample room for two, as was the walk in shower, which had a very large rain circular head located in the ceiling. Also provided were some lovely soaps, shampoo and lotions. Towels were large, good quality and plentiful.
The housekeeping was exemplary, the room was always spotless and presented to a very high standard. The turn down service was excellent too, with some lovely and tasty gifts waiting for you after a days sightseeing.
We loved the hotel that much we didn’t want to leave. Check out was easy and we were given a very tasty treat to mark our departure.
A simply wonderful experience from start to finish.

L'hôtel est magnifique, très bien situé et le personnel est sympathique et très pro. Nous avons passé 4 jours à Berne pour notre anniversaire de mariage et avons séjourné à cet hôtel. Ce fut une très belle expérience. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter. Un grand merci au personnel de l'établissement car tout était parfait! vraiment tout

Shoppen, schön nächtigen und geniessen...das haben wir uns als kleine Auszeit im Schweizerhof Bern gegönnt. Das Zimmer war sehr schön, wenn auch Freitagnachts bei offenem Fenster etwas laut. Aber schliesslich wohnt man mitten in der Stadt, damit muss man rechnen. Es hat ein tolles, grosses Bad mit separatem WC, eine Kaffeemaschine und ein sehr bequemes Bett. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und der Kaffee köstlich. Es gab eine Karte aus der man weitere Frühstückskomponenten bestellen konnte. Einziger Wermutstropfen: überall Musik in unangenehmer Lautstärke, was beim Frühstück besonders störend war. Ich weiss nicht, warum man immer und überall zugedröhnt wird. Im Schweizerhof beim Frühstück mit viel zu lautem JAZZ :-( Diese Musikrichtung ist nun wirklich nicht jedermanns Geschmack und hat uns das Frühstück etwas verdorben. Ansonsten toller Service inkl. Parken des Autos und sehr freundliche MitarbeiterINNEN. DANKE!

Wir waren nur eine Nacht in diesem Hotel. Die Ankunft war trotz Corona unkompliziert und rasch. Das Auto wurde uns geparkt, das Gepäck war bereits auf dem Zimmer wie wir dort ankamen. Das Zimmer selber war sauber, elegant und gemütlich. WiFI ist fast automatisch eingerichtet, alle Sonderwünsche wie Kissen und Teekocher waren im Zimmer. Die Badetücher sind flauschig und die Bettwäsche roch angenehm. Das Zimmer liess sich sehr gut verdunkeln und man hörte kein Lärm weder von draussen noch vom Flur. Auch röhrte keine Klimaanlage oder ein Exitschild das ständig leuchtete. An all das wurde gedacht, damit gut geschlafen werden kann.
Wir assen in der Lobby. Schnitzel und Klubsandwitch. Die Portionen waren gross, sauber angerichtet und geschmacklich harmonisch. Der Service war freundlich, rasch und hoch professionel. Alle Mitarbeiter waren sehr liebenswert zu uns und die Gespräche mit uns waren kein auswendig gelerntes Traraaa. So mögen wir das, ein feines Hotel mit unkompliziertem Service. Denn es gibt leider noch immer 5Sterne Hotels die ganze Gebetsbücher an Regeln dem Gast gegenüber durchführen und das langweilt uns wenn das Check in alleine schon 20 Minuten dauert und Essenszeiten und Regeln monoton heruntergebetet werden...
Wir kommen gerne wieder und können es hier nur empfehlen. Eine feine Adresse!

We chose to stay at a different hotel and ended up spending our days at this hotel instead. We wished we would’ve done a room here. Instead we did morning coffee in the lounge, spent the day in their beautiful spa and had massages and then ended evening in their amazing restaurant. Staff was very friendly and exceptionally accommodating!  Will be staying here next time for sure.

My last hour in Bern, with a cigar and nice whisky Wish was amazed by a Young female Bartender by the name of Drenusha! She's a bien salesperson  and a good caretaker.
Definitly left a very good impression of high level, human touch service. Big UP to her. I also appreciated the cigar lounge.

We had a package and were still treated like princesses.  I've never seen such a beautiful arrival.  the rooms were large and the bathroom was a dream!  the food was great too.  only the breakfast menu could offer more options.  the massages was great!  also a highlight was the short training with jim, great service and great advice.  I think it's nice that this elegant hotel also has inexpensive offers.

Great hotel, in a fantastic part of Bern with incredibly friendly and helpful people. Arrived a bit early and we were able to get a map and explore after checking in and enjoying the great room.
Ate at the terrace upstairs and what a fun experience. BBQ at your table with fabulous views of the city and mountains. Staff was extremely polite and accommodating. Will stay there again.
